Following the passage of EDPA Law, EDPA in May, 2018 entered into a Joint Venture Partnership (JVP) with Mixta Real Estate Plc. through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – Edo Affordable Housing Limited for the development of 1440 units gated housing estate on 70 Hectares of land at Upper Sokponba Road, Ikpoba/Okha LGA. The structure of the JVP was that Edo State Government through EDPA would provide land in various locations plus enabling environment in the form of approvals, waivers and assistance as necessary while Mixta will design and provide funds for the projects. The partners will jointly market and sell the housing units.
The Golf Mews is the first high end luxury apartment block to be built by the State Government through EDPA. It is a 26-unit Block of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments on 4 (Four) Floors on the popular Central Road, GRA, Benin City. It is opposite the 4 Brigade by the Golf Course/Benin Club, close to the Force Headquarters, DSS Office and the Government House. It is 5 (Five) Minutes away from the Airport, Stadium, Oba Palace, Ring Road, Central Hospital, State Secretariat Complex and other key locations in the City. Andrew Wilson Shopping Complex
It originally consisted of 6 shops that had been abandoned prior to our resumption, EDPA as part of its objective to bring them back into use and unlock the inherent latent value, secured approval from Mr. Governor to renovate the existing shops, add 6 (six) new shops and build a gate house for the estate (as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR). PZ Road has been repaired and the area is experiencing influx of people and new businesses.
As part of the regeneration programme for 2nd axis of Sokponba Road, part of EDPA land was seeded to an SPV – Growmark Agricultural Development Company Limited jointly owned by EDPA and Persianas Group to develop the First Jara Mall in Benin City under a Joint Venture Partnership with a sharing ratio of 70:30. EDPA has 30% share of the SPV. Jara is a Nigeria brand that stocks “Made in Nigeria” Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs). The first mall was opened in Ikeja Lagos and Jara Benin is the 2nd Mall.
Commissioned on the 6th Day of March 2020, Jara has proved to be a favourite choice for shoppers in Benin City. It provides an alternative shopping and consumer purchase experience to the market. It prides itself as being extremely competitive and good value for customers.
Ekpoma Housing Estate- (Coming Soon)
In line with creating affordable housing for low-income earners in the State, Edo Development and Property Agency (EDPA) in collaboration with the Family Housing Funds Limited (FHFL) introduces EDPA UDA Housing Estate Project. This project which is on Ekpoma/Irrua Road will comprise of 500nos 1-bedroom, 2-Bedrooms and 3-Bedrooms housing units on 10 hectares land within EDPA’s 98 Hectares land. The project benefits from convenient access to a major road and highway and all amenities will be provided to make it a cohesive community. The housing units are extendable to make the entry price affordable to a larger group of Civil Servants.
